“It just seemed like a hopeless situation … I never would have thought that I could love and enjoy my work as much as I do … God surprised me with unseen strength and abilities.”
Psalm 31:14-15 but I trust in you, O Lord I say, "you are my God. My times are in your hand;"
It was during my final practicum of my first degree that I realized I was in the wrong career path. I had invested so much time, money and effort into this career, and it just seemed like an hopeless situation. I was not ready to give up on it just yet, but the various means I tried to further this career all led to a dead end.
Hitting rock bottom, made me reevaluate my life and gave me the chance to finally yield to my family's advice to apply to a Nursing program. I never would have thought that I could love and enjoy my work as much as I do. I never ever in my wildest dream thought I would be a nurse, but here I am, and I am loving every minute of it. I thought I knew what my future career would be or what I was good at but God surprised me with unseen strength and abilities. Being a nurse has been a blessing to my life, it has provided me with great opportunities and friends. Although my road to nursing has not being easy, God's hands have seen me through every obstacle.
Lots of young people worry about the future and their career path, but as Christians we should remember to trust God because He has great plans for our lives. Even when it's not clear to us, all things will work together for our good because He is a good God and He has got our back. Proverbs 3:5-6.
