HER FUTURE CONFERENCE: LIVE ON PURPOSE
SATURDAY, MARCH 2 // 8:30am - 4:40pm
Marilyn Skinner is the vibrant and energetic wife of Gary Skinner and together they give leadership to Watoto Church, a community church in Kampala, Uganda with over 29,000 people gathering every week to celebrate the life and hope they’ve found in Jesus Christ.
Marilyn founded Watoto Neighbourhood to come alongside vulnerable women in Uganda and partner with them to find practical, sustainable solutions to meet their key needs, which include housing, healthcare support, employment and education for their children. As they embrace these women with God’s love, they find hope and a purpose. Marilyn passionately believes that when we empower women to care for their own families, we transform communities and the nation.
Canadian born, Marilyn has lived in Kampala, Uganda for over 30 years with the love of her life, husband Gary. She is the mother of three children and grandmother of six.
Julie married her high school sweet heart Caleb just over ten years ago & together they planted a Church 7 years ago which is now Hillsong Church In our Nation’s Capital. They had 4 babies in 5 years; Judah, Abbey, Finley & Rowen. Julie is passionately in love with Jesus and absolutely committed to building the Local Church. Her heart has been so intimately found, healed, loved and championed in God that she believes her very purpose in life is to simply connect people to a life giving relationship with Jesus so they can experience that same intimacy with God. Julie is playful, candid & incredibly inspiring and will be a blessing to the people she encounters on and off the platform.
Anne is passionate about seeing the lives of women transform as they deepen their relationship with Jesus. She is always thinking of creative ways to engage women in the curriculum which is God's Word.
Anne's personal background is rooted in social justice: working for non-profit agencies that advocated for newcomers to Canada and multicultural initiatives, she developed Crime Prevention Programs for youth under the Attorney General's Office in BC, and loved her time in the classroom as a secondary school educator teaching Spanish and English, currently she directs the Women's Ministry at Village Church in Surrey, British Columbia. Born and raised in Canada into a Lebanese heritage, Anne understands the challenges and beauty of being first generation Canadian.
Anne and Carlos have been married for twelve years and are parents to Nathaniel and Hannah. She enjoys walks on the beach, cheerleading really loud at her kids sporting events and exploring new cafés.
